Well this past Monday was very scary. I had a few contractions over the weekend but just thought they were Braxton Hicks so wasn't too concerned. I went to work on Monday still having a few BH and started documenting them since they seemed to be getting more frequent. Well by 11:00 a.m. they were exactly 5 minutes apart so I tried calling both my doctors and no one was available. I made the decision to just go into the hospital which was a good idea. They hooked me up to fetal heart monitors and contraction monitors, took some tests and decided that I was indeed in preterm labor. They gave me 3 shots every hour to stop the contractions and also had ultrasound to check on babies and my cervix. Both babies are now transverse which is very uncomfortable for me. After waiting another hour to make sure they had stopped the contractions I was released to go home but on bed rest for 2 days. I had some more while on bedrest but nothing like they were on Monday. Praying they stop for good and these girls continue cooking until March!

The Girl's Nursery
The cribs were delivered this weekend so we did some moving around of furniture (full bed into smaller guest room and twin bed into office) We will be using the largest of the rooms for the girls since they will needs lots of room!
Cribs!!!
Daddy putting the cribs together.
Here are the crib bedding that I will order. I will use same fabric patterns and colors but mix up for each baby so they kind of have their own look.
Still need to refinish their dresser/changing table!

25 Weeks
We saw the specialist again yesterday to check up on the twins and see how much lil bit has grown. She is growing at a normal rate for her gestational age but she is still 4 weeks behind her sister! They are both doing really well and despite her two vessel cord she has good blood flow. The cyst on her placenta has not grown which is good. They are both head down now which explains all the high kicks! We go back in 3 weeks for another ultrasound and are praying they continue to grow and develop! We are still trying to decide on names for these two girls but it's proving to be much more difficult than I thought!

Amniocentesis
We had quite the scare after seeing the specialist November 10th. We were advised to see her since one of the twins was so much smaller. They did an ultrasound and got lots of measurements of her and found that she has a 2 vessel cord and small cyst on her placenta. With these findings she strongly suggested we have an amnio done to rule out any chromosome disorders. It was a very hard decision for us to make since the procedure has a risk of miscarriage, but in the end we decided that it was best for both the babies if we allowed the doctors to gain as much knowledge as they could. The procedure was very painful and scary but I made it through. The worst part was waiting the 10 days for the test results to come back. Our prayers were answered and the tests came back normal for both babies. I had my 24 week check up with my OBGYN last week and everything looks good but still going to see the specialist again this week to check on their growth. Thank you to all who kept our baby girls in your prayers!

Girls Girls Girls!!!!
Well we had our 20 week ultrasound and it's two sweet baby girls!!! We are very excited and cant wait to meet them! Although they both seem to be healthy baby A is much smaller and that is a concern so we are seeing a specialist at St. Lukes Hospital next thursday. Please pray that both our little girls are healthy!

Happy Halloween 2011
We went to my parents for their Halloween block party. We had yummy chili and of course lots of candy! The kids were so cute in all their costumes and I got to wear the cute shirt I found online! We are so excited that we go back to the doctor this Friday for our 20 week check up and gender ultra sound! We are praying they cooperate so we know what they are and that everything is right on track for both babies.

Popcorn in the Belly
We are now at 18 weeks!!! I have really started feeling the babies in the last few weeks which is so amazing! I wasn't sure at first if it was them but now I am positive that they are making those movements. It feels a lot like popcorn popping and sometimes when they make complete turns it feels like butterflies in my belly! The baby on the right moves a lot more than the baby on the left. They have got a lot stronger this past week and Cole was actually able to feel the little thumps while I was laying down. He got very excited and tries to feel them all the time now. Only 3 more weeks and we will hopefully find out what these two sweet babies are! Here is a belly pic, not the best pic but it will do. More pics to come!

Hide and Seek
Well we went for our 16 week appointment on Friday and were supposed to find out the gender of the babies. I guess they decided to play a game of hide and seek and we were not able to 100% identify their genders. We will have to wait 4 more weeks to find out what these two are! We are very happy that they are healthy though. We celebrated our 2 year anniversary over the weekend by working on some house projects and buying new light fixtures! Next project is the kitchen!!! Hopefully we can get all of the things on our to do list done before the babies are here!

12 Weeks
We had our check up at 12 weeks on Friday along with some blood work. Cole was not able to go so my mom was thrilled to be able to go with me this time! We both enjoyed getting to see how much the babies have changed and how much they are moving! Baby B had the hicups which was so neat to see and since baby B is sitting on baby A he/she was moving all over and kicking and waving their arms. The doctor thinks baby A is a boy but we won't know for sure until October 7th! We couldn't get a good look at baby B since they had their legs curled up most of the time.
Size of babies: Two little plums!
Weight gain: Lost 5-6 pounds until about 10 weeks and now I have gained 4-5 pounds. Gaining weight for these two is much harder of a task than I imagined! I am hoping in the 2nd trimester I am able to gain more weight since our goal is for 2 chubby and healthy twins!
Cravings: Homemade cookies, fruit, cereal, chocolate milk, and cheetos (all the healthy stuff ha!). Still a little nauseous in the evenings which makes eating dinner tricky. I am ready for the nausea and food aversions to go away!

Baby Updates
Well, we had our second appointment and ultrasound at 9 weeks. Everything looks great! We love getting to see them and can't believe how much they have changed since our last appointment. They were moving their little arms and their heart beats were going strong! Baby A is a little hard to see because of his/her position so most of the pictures are either head on or from the back. Baby B we got a good profile picture. We go back on September 9th and I will be a little over 12 weeks then so can't wait to see how much they grow. We are supposed to find out their sexes at 15 weeks and we can't wait!!!
Both twins! They are sitting in T shape. You can see the face of baby B at bottom and back of baby A at top.

Double the blessing!
Finally we can tell the World! We have anxiously been waiting the long two weeks after we took that pregnancy test until our first doctor's visit so that we can finally tell everyone the exciting news. And that's not all we then found out that we are having TWINS!!! I took a trip to Florida with my mom as an early birthday gift and the whole time I was there I just kept having this feeling that something was going on with my body. By the time I got home that Sunday I was pretty anxious to take that pregancy test to know for sure. Well I took a test and another and both said PREGNANT! We were both just standing there, smiling in shock. We wanted to call everyone we knew immediately but thought it would be best to wait until after the first appointment. At our first appointment we were expecting to just see how the baby was developing and see that little heart beat. When the ultrasound tech jokingly said lets just make sure there is not two in here. We both laughed and then she said wow there really are two. I said what, are you joking? She said no look! Sure enough there were two little babies with two little heart beats! We were both shocked and excited. I started laughing and crying so much she finaly had to say please be still so I can measure them. WOW talk about some exciting news! As soon as we left the doctor office we started calling everyone we knew to tell them! The most common reaction was OMG or You are kidding! Everyone was shocked but so excited. We decided to wait to tell my parents since we were going to dinner with them for my dad's birthday. I got him two of the exact same card and two of the exact same gifts. We was very confused as to why he got the exact same thing and just couldn't figure it out. My sister finally figured it out and said OMG! We told them yes it's TWINS! We feel VERY blessed and are VERY excited to start this new journey together!
First pictures of the twins! Due March 21, 2012!
Ironic that I took this picture with 2 positives for 2 babies!

We have lots of plans for the spring/summer to remodel the kitchen and guest bath. We will also be doing lots of landscaping in the front and backyard! I was so excited yesterday to see beautiful purple tulips blooming in the front garden! I guess the people before us planted them. Wish us luck!
